With this DVD, we will learn and practice the typical Japanese weapon Naginata with master Don Angier co-authored with the Japanese Armament Kit.

The naginata is a longsword, with a long blade and narrow blade, similar to a katana, much different from the Chinese greatsword. Like Swordsmanship, Archery, Spearmanship, the long-sword technique Naginata Jutsu was also a weapon used by the Samurai. Today, the art of using naginata is still taught and preserved as the legacy of traditional Japanese martial arts. In some places, people replace the tongue of Naginata with a bamboo stick to easily compete like Kendo. In this DVD, Master Don Angier will introduce us to the Naginata technique of the Yoshida Ha Shidare Yanagi Ryu school.
