Flight 1:
Arnaud Waltz sets out to describe the essentials in terms of building techniques and everything you need to know to lead your own progress in Aikido.
The first technique, Ikkyo, is ground control, the second, Shihonage,
a projection. In their forms of execution, these two technical forms illustrate the same principle of construction, that of the closure of the arm-trunk angle, the hands, which move on the longitudinal axis of the body, recall the trajectory of the attacks shomen with ken or jo. The latter an essential benchmark in the construction of the technique.
Each of the Kihon waza is presented on the most common forms of attack, in a global then analytical way, taking care to highlight the key points.
Arnaud Waltz, 6th dan, offers you a practical method for studying stocking forms or Kihon Waza, for beginners. Teachers will also find elements likely to help them design and implement their courses. Volume 2:
Two Kihon Waza: Irimi Nage and Kote Gaeshi
The imbalance and projection phase of these techniques is based on two common construction principles: 1st principle:
the work of Tori’s hands is carried out in the extension of the attack during the imbalance phase before moving towards the center of Uke during the projection phase. 2nd principle: the displacement of the hips leads Uke and Tori to find themselves parallel during the phase of imbalance, to then move towards the center of Uke.
